Your Guide to NYC Vegan Events 2015

The days are getting longer. The temperature is on the rise. We no longer  jump through slushy puddles or walk on arctic ice.

Our hearts soar with joy when checking the weather because we know our commute will be full of warm sunlight and cool breeze. Because spring is definitely (almost) here!
New York City is a great place to be in the spring with many awesome events. With that in mind, we put together a little dandy guide of some cool vegan events/ pop-up markets/ food fairs for everyone. We will be at some of those events this year, so don't forget to stop by and say hi! If we're missing any awesome events, let us know in the comments below.

 When: March 14 & 15, 2015 from 11am to 6pm.

Where: Metropolitan Pavilion - 125 West 18th Street.
NYCVFF is one of the biggest annual vegan events in the city, which goes on for two days. The festival presents a series of speaking events, cooking demos, and a marketplace with many vendors from across the country. The festival also has a kid's corner if you are planning to bring your kids. Advanced ticket sale is now over. However, you still can get a ticket at the door. Reduced end-of-day admission will be available from 4-5:30pm.

The Seed: Market is a monthly pop-up market that takes place at The Altman Building. Besides local vendors, The Seed also hosts yoga classes during the day and organizes cooking demos. For new dates throughout spring and summer, you can always check on The Seed's website.

Show your veg pride with other vegheads of New York City! Details are still being confirmed for this year's parade. However, you can check out a list of speakers on their official site. Photos and programs from previous years are also available.

Where: The Altman Building - 135 West 18th Street.
Dessert lovers rejoice because this is the event for you! This is a one-day event that hosts artisanal chocolate makers, yummy cupcake, sweet treats makers, and delicious ice cream makers. Early bird tickets are now on sale here.

Where: Brooklyn Expo Center, 72 Noble Street.
Another event from The Seed organizers. This year's The Seed: Experience will be in Brooklyn. We don't see many details about this event yet. However, early bird tickets are on sale now. We were sampling and selling at The Seed Experience 2014, so we can personally vouch that this will be a great one!

Other monthly pop-up events:

When: Check their official website for the exact date.

Where: Pine Box Rock Shop - 12 Grattan St., Brooklyn.
Vegan Shop-Up is NYC's first all-vegan market. They have a list of different vendors every month, so don't forget to check the site when you're planning the trip. In Brooklyn, the market usually takes place at the vegan friendly bar Pine Box Rock Shop (where the best vegan Bloody Mary calls home). Sometime, Vegan Shop-Up marches into Manhattan and set up shop in MooShoes.

When: Generally on last Thursday of every month from 7pm to 10pm.

Where: Fontana's Bar, 105 Eldridge Street.
"Vegan Drinks is a monthly social networking event for people interested in promoting veganism and advocating for animal rights." Every month, Vegan Drinks selects a nonprofit organization to benefit. They also choose a specific food vendor to sample and sell food at the meetup. Alcoholic drinks are optional, but you have to be 21+ to enter Fontana's Bar.
If we miss anything, drop a line in the comments below and let us know. Otherwise, we hope you will be able to attend all these awesome fiestas this spring and summer. If you're reading this on Saturday 3/14, please turn off your computer, put on your favorite jacket and come join us at NYC Vegetarian Food Festival because we want to see your lovely face there!
